Lovely framed oil portrait on canvas by Michael S., signed lower left. From a note attached on the back, the painting was done in 1989, the lady in the portrait could be the artist’s mother. In the style of romantic realism, the artist lovingly portrayed a short haired woman sitting by a rustic table fondling a peony whilst immersed in thought.. The painting is filled with wonderful details, windowsill festooned with books and potted plants, busy objects lying around the table, fireplace warmly lit..
